This is Not a Test by Courtney Summers
June 19, 2012 from St. Martin’s Griffin
It’s the end of the world. Six students have taken cover in Cortege High but shelter is little comfort when the dead outside won’t stop pounding on the doors. One bite is all it takes to kill a person and bring them back as a monstrous version of their former self. To Sloane Price, that doesn’t sound so bad. Six months ago, her world collapsed and since then, she’s failed to find a reason to keep going. Now seems like the perfect time to give up. As Sloane eagerly waits for the barricades to fall, she’s forced to witness the apocalypse through the eyes of five people who actually want to live. But as the days crawl by, the motivations for survival change in startling ways and soon the group’s fate is determined less and less by what’s happening outside and more and more by the unpredictable and violent bids for life—and death—inside. When everything is gone, what do you hold on to?

Definitely intrigued by this one! I love the idea of the MC being forced to confront her apathy in the face of those desperate to live. And I can already imagine the internal friction that’s likely to pop up from people trapped in such a situation.
I’ll keep my eyes peeled for your review of this one!
Smiles!

Wait, is this a ZOMBIE book? I don’t know what it is about zombies that are so amazingly scary awesome – okay, yes I do but that defeats the purpose of my sentence – but I have serious love for a good zombie book!

I am super excited for This is Not a Test! I was really happy to snag an ARC from NetGalley. I don’t usually care much whether I get to read a book ahead or not, but I’ll admit this one I held my breath for.

Excellent choice! Don’t you just love the cover? It is one of my favorites that I have seen so far this year. I was super excited to be approved on NetGalley to read this and I’m hoping to start it next week. Yay! I hope you get to read it soon too!

Zombies SO aren’t my thing. I actually grimaced at the cover, and went “WOW” after I read the book summary… after such a reaction, I now feel like I have to give this book a chance!!
