1. What is one of your current favorite songs?
Just one? I listen to an eclectic mix of music (pop, 80′s euro, goth, shoe gaze, down tempo, trance, techno, electronica, EBM, folk), but my current fave is “Not In Love” by Crystal Castles and Robert Smith.

You can also check out the music that inspires the Spirit Guide series on the “Extras” page of the official website

2. Tell us about a vacation you’d like to take.
I love to travel. One of my favorite destinations is Rome, Italy. The multi-layered history can be seen in the surrounding architecture and ancient ruins. I could spend a week just exploring the catacombs on the outskirts of the city. The Capuchin Crypt on Via Veneto is also fabulously macabre. Perhaps I should begin planning for a “Yuki” trip to Rome. It would be interesting to visit a city so steeped in death from the perspective of someone with clairalience, the ability to smell the dead.

3. How many belts do you own?
Belts? I don’t actually own a belt (I so rarely wear pants). Corsets on the other hand… ;)

4. Where is your nearest stapler?
I don’t own a stapler either. I prefer binder clips for manuscripts since they allow for removal and don’t present a choking risk for my corgi furry baby.

5. What color are your kitchen walls?
I have dark cherry cabinets that cover most of my kitchen walls, but the little bit of wall remaining is a creamy shade of off-white.

Thank you for having me here today for your Fun Five feature!

  1. I totally squeed when I read “The Capuchin Crypt on Via Veneto.” I *just* found that place this past May on a visit to Italy with two friends. Creepy, absolutely. Fascinating, definitely. Flying Death was so awesome, as was the giant hourglass. The skull-hipbone butterflies were a bit eerie, tho!

Her kitchen is just like mine!!! Dark cherry cabinets with antique white walls, I would love to know what color her counters are – mine are burgundy.

  3. Lori: The Capuchin Crypt really is amazing! I’m definitely planning a paranormal trip to Rome. Were you able to check out the catacombs just outside the city? Another spooktacular place to visit.

Wendy: My counters are black and grey faux granite with little flecks of burgundy. I <3 my kitchen. :)

  4. These are the most fun interview questions I’ve ever seen! And yet, I feel I know you better from these. What a great post.
E.J. – The first time I got off the plane in Rome, I was delighted – everyone looked like me! Everywhere you look is history. (not to be inferring that I look historic…)

  5. Melodie: I always feel like I fit in while traveling in Europe. Wearing all black clothing is much more accepted. ;)

One of the reasons that I love Rome is the multi-layered history that bubbles to the surface no matter what piazza or street you choose to explore.

I’m also a museum fan-girl and Rome has some of the most impressive art museums on the planet. *sigh* I can’t wait to return. So, when are we going?? ;P

That is so cool – exploring the catacombs. I love to watch those kind of shows on TV. If you need a buddy to explore with, think of me (lol).
