Book Summary:
Noah’s happier than I’ve seen him in months. So I’d be an awful brother to get in the way of that. It’s not like I have some relationship with Melinda. It was just a kiss. Am I going to ruin Noah’s happiness because of a kiss?

Across four sun-kissed, drama-drenched summers at his family’s beach house, Chase is falling in love, falling in lust, and trying to keep his life from falling apart. But some girls are addictive….

Not your typical beach read.

Review:
There are some mixed reviews on this book, but I am definitely in the LOVED IT camp, and for that I am glad.

I wasn’t sure about the cover + synopsis – those things are focused on light/romance/fluffy, while this book is more real/family for me.

It’s hard for me to explain my feelings for this book besides telling you that I really loved it. I love contemporary novels, and Invincible Summer is a very real portrayal of family and the journey of Chase throughout several summers. The other members of Chase’s family are very real, too – and it’s the first book I had read with a character like Gideon (deaf), and that part of the story especially has stuck with me for months after I finished reading.

The dysfunctional family is a specialty of Hannah Moskowitz, and if you’ve read her debut novel (Break) and liked it, you will certainly love her sophomore book.

  3. I’m in the dislike camp-had some big problems with many of the characters although I did love Gideon.

  4. When I was reading this book I kept thinking “real” as well! Great review!
