Story Sequels
Mini Challenge!
Rules are simple: Pick a book you are reading or have in your reading stack for the Readathon. Write a fake summary (like you would see on the back of a book or at Amazon) for the “next book” in the series (if the author were to write one). Your fake summary should be at least four sentences (one paragraph) but can be up to three or four paragraphs if you’d like! You can comment directly on this post or comment with a link to the post on your blog where you complete the challenge.
This challenge ends at the end of Hour 18. The winner may choose any Amazon or Book Depository book (depending on which site ships to your country) under $15.
Good luck!

Winnifred Hathaway!
There was always a connection between them, but can they destroy the obstacles between them and find a happy ending? Can love break all rules?
You can’t miss this sequel to Mine till midnight by Lisa Keyplas!
I read Twelve Angry Men during the read-a-thon. It’s a very serious book, so I decided to make the next book in the “series” a comedy à la Oceans 11/12/13. Here’s my fake summary for the sequel…
You were captivated when Twelve Angry Men were sequestered to decide the fate of one man. It was a hot, humid afternoon and they argued over the facts of the case. Now those men are back for another adventure in the jury box. This time they must decide who has been making inappropriate copies on an office copier and their joined by a wacky new member on the jury. Who can they trust? Will it be a hung jury or a closed case? Find out in “Thirteen Mildly Irritated Men.”
I’ll make up a synopsis for the sequel I’m currently reading (which, admittedly, is only about 100 pages in), “The Death List” by Paul Johnston.
“The Devil’s Book”
Unsatisfied with his portrayl in the novel he’d forced Matt Wells into writing about his murderous exploits, the White Devil demands a little rewrite. Thriller-writer Matt Wells has had more than enough of the madman’s antics and, no longer fearful for his loved ones thanks to the Devil’s incareration, declines. That isn’t what the White Devil wants to hear. He quickly resorts to his old tactics and threats, with Matt thinking them little more than a crazy person’s ramblings, but these is one little thing the Devil leaves out; he’s escaped.

The last book in the Warriors series…..

All the clans must travel and find new territory, the two-legs are setting in and building condos and suburbans. The clans are starved and scrawny, they are slowly dying away…will they survive? Will they work together?
Here is a “sequel” for Beastly by Alex Flinn- as a short disclaimer, I have not finished this book so sorry is my sequel has things that are actually addressed in the end of the book:
Kyle Kingsbury had broken the witches spell with true loves kiss and been restored to the beauty that had been stolen away when the witch transformed him. Kyle had changed on the inside and was no longer the cruel boy that he had been when he had been turned into the beast. But can Lindy accept the truth about who her captive had been? She loves Kyle, but is love enough when the real world comes crashing down around the pair? Will Kyle be able to stay the kind guy he had become, or is the draw of riches and beauty too much to withstand? All this and more will be answered in the amazing new sequel to Alex Flinn’s bestseller “Beastly” in “Beauty”.
A possible follow-up to Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie…
“Liza Tyler likes change. Never staying at one job – or in the same apartment – for more than a year at a time, she felt perfectly happy. Her friends were all married and happy and stable, but she never wanted that kind of life. That is, until she meets Jared, a sexy and mysterious man from down South. He seems a bit of a drifter himself, and him and Liza start to bond instantly, but will either one of them be able to make the sacrifices necessary to stay together?”
Ouch, that probably sounds really bad. LOL. I never thought how hard it’d be to summarize a whole made-up book!
SYNOPSIS FOR SEQUEL TO “HAUNTING JASMINE”:

The only thing to do now is renovate the bookstore with bestsellers, wifi, and a cafe. But weird things start happening. Classic books go missing. Bookshelves overturn. The stairs are creaking and Jasmine hears voices. Could the bookstore be haunted? Or is someone trying to sabotage her plans?
I finished reading Little Princes….
The Sequel would be:
Connor Grennan, now married to the love his life Liz, and with their new baby boy struggle with the decision they made to go back to the states, leaving Nepal and the children of Nepal and the safe house Connor started.
When a large anonymous donation comes in for the Grennan’s, Connor and Liz feel that they are meant to return to Nepal. In this sequel we will see how this new family takes a leap of faith to find housing and be able to step back into saving children from child traffickers.
“Ken and Olivia met in a teen chat-room and their internet love blossomed, but now that they’re together in real life, is that enough? Olivia’s heart strays back to VHO and begins an online romance with former pal ChitCat. But what Olivia doesn’t know is that ChitCat is the alter ego of…her high-school classmate Lila Fowler! Will Olivia run from this new kind of relationship, or will the two girls find romance online, where they won’t be judged? Find out in Sweet Valley High #-42, Forbidden Love…, the first book in a smoldering fourteen-part miniseries.”
I also wanted to make Ken fall in love with Michael-with-the-soft-southern-accent (seriously, they’re all over each other in the beginning of Mystery Date), but I refrained.
“She told you what you’d need for Mars; now find out what’s required for the expanses of the ocean! Mary Roach explores the science of submarines, ships, and surviving the pressures of 70% of the Earth’s surface in her newest hit, Sloshed. The deep has long drawn mankind’s imagination, and now Roach draws out the crazier side of the sea! Grab a maitai or just a good bottle of rum and get ready for a voyage of discovery!”
I’ve been reading Packing for Mars, and while Roach doesn’t exactly write series, there is a common theme to her non-fiction. Even though I aimed for cheesy, I actually have made myself want to read this book!
As the war between the Seelie and Unseelie escalates, MacKayla Lane and Jerricho Barrons must fight a battle of their own. Only this one is far more personal than anything they’ve gone up against before. Will they make it? Or will the secret Mac’s carrying around destroy them forever. And the world around them?
Don’t miss the exciting sequel to Karen Marie Moning’s Fever series: Secretfever.

Sequel to Alice I Have Been – White Rabbit I have Been.
You followed along with Alice’s life after the rabbit hole. Now see what happened for the White Rabbit who she went after.
It’s been seventy years since that fateful day. The White Rabbit was late for a meeting, and ran past a little girl, who followed him to the upside down world of Wonderland. What’s happened since then? In a world of magic, who says rabbits can’t live to be ninety? And just how many children did the White Rabbit have, if what they say about rabbits is true?
All these questions will be answered and more in this captivating sequel to Alice I Have Been.
The book I chose is Fallen grace by Mary Hooper
“It has been two years since Grace and Lily Parkes have survived a life of squalor and destitution. Know on the eve of her wedding to she gets shocking news, her son has been kidnapped from his adoptive family and the viscous Unwin family is threateniing to reveal Grace’s pass and harm her child”
What did Maisie know? After a very unstable childhood Maisie knew that happily-ever-afters are only fairy-tales, and if adults had so much trouble with personal relationships she really didn’t want to grow up…. so in a sequel that could follow Henry James’s novel (entirely made-up, of course) Maisie searches for a remedy to aging and sources of sublime happiness. As a young women Maisie finds peace in a communal arrangement and brings together her parents, step-parents, governess, and caretakers over time where they form a unique blended family and raise organic fruits and vegetables.
My previous post reflects WHAT MAISIE KNEW and speculates on a sequel for this Henry James novel.
The Four Ms. Bradwells
The four women were sitting in the ER when the doctor came out and asked to speak with Ms. Bradwell. They all stood up together, synchronized in their hesitation to hear the doctor’s prognosis. As the doctor realized they were all staring at him, he said Mrs. Edward Bradwell. Not realizing that the four of them were answering to the name it became clear that Mr. Edward Bradwell had married 4 Ms. Bradwells.
I just finished reading Good Oil by Laura Buzo. This book definitely needs a follow up.
Here is the made up synopsis for the sequel titled, Good Night:
It’s been 10 years since Amelia’s first love, Chris, walked out of her life to teach English in Japan. Their six year age gap made having a relationship impossible.
Back at 15, Amelia never thought she’d ever forget about him, now at 25 she hardly recognized him when he stumbles back into her life, married and looking a bit ragged.
The plan is to grab a cup of coffee together to catch up, but they quickly discover that plans very rarely work out when intimate secrets are revealed.
