1. What do you normally eat for breakfast?
Normally? Nothing. I never have much of an appetite in the morning, though I am able to suddenly summon an appetite when there’s a big breakfast buffet around with fresh fruit, biscuits and gravy. Mmmmm… gravy. And omelets. OK, now I’m hungry.
2. What is your caffeine of choice?
Dr. Pepper. I also like good black coffee.
3. Of the amusement park attractions, which do you look forward to the most?
I’ve only recently started going on amusement park attractions again now that I’ve got kids. Before that, it had been years and I seriously had no idea what would happen if I tried the roller coaster or Tilt-A-Whirl. Would I pee my pants? I’m happy to report that that didn’t happen, however I can’t say that I look forward to any amusement park rides. I fear heights and I have old-lady stomach. The last ride I went on was with my 6-year-old, and it was called “The Silencer.” When I got off, I had to silence my tummy, which really wanted to show everybody what I’d had for dinner an hour earlier. How’s that for TMI?
4. Describe your favorite pair of shoes.
They’re soft, black ballet flats – the kind that sort of scrunch into themselves when you take them off – and they have a cute ruffle at the toe. I love them because they go with everything, especially jeans and sweaters in winter-time, and because they’re soft and feminine. They’re getting pretty scuffed up from so much wear, though, so I’m on a mission to find a new pair just like them.
5. What television show must you watch every week?
Lately, it’s “Glee.” Other than that I don’t watch much TV because prime TV-watching time is also prime novel-writing time. Thank goodness for Hulu!
Thank you so much for stopping by, Sara
More about Rival:
Meet Brooke: Popular, powerful and hating every minute of it, she’s the “It” girl at Douglas High in Lake Champion, Minnesota. Her real ambition? Using her operatic mezzo as a ticket back to NYC, where her family lived before her dad ran off with an up and coming male movie star.
Now meet Kathryn: An overachieving soprano with an underachieving savings account, she’s been a leper ever since Brooke punched her at a party junior year. For Kath, music is the key to a much-needed college scholarship.
The stage is set for a high-stakes duet between the two seniors as they prepare for the prestigious Blackmore competition. Brooke and Kathryn work toward the Blackmore with eyes not just on first prize but on one another, each still stinging from a past that started with friendship and ended in betrayal. With competition day nearing, Brooke dreams of escaping the in-crowd for life as a professional singer, but her scheming BFF Chloe has other plans. And when Kathryn gets an unlikely invitation to Homecoming, she suspects Brooke of trying to sabotage her with one last public humiliation.
As pressures mount, Brooke starts to sense that the person she hates most might just be the best friend she ever had. But Kathryn has a decision to make. Can she forgive? Or are some rivalries for life?

Ooh, fun feature! Great questions.
And mm, Dr. Pepper. I want one now.
Can’t wait to read Rival!
I went looking for Rival this weekend but it wasn’t in my Borders
I’m hopefully going to pick up a copy soon from another outlet.
Awww. I ordered it from Amazon because I had a feeling my small bookstore might not have it. I need to read my library books first but Rival keeps taunting me from my bookshelf!
