Book Summary:
When Eddie Reeves’s father commits suicide her life is consumed by the nagging question of why? Why when he was a legendary photographer and a brilliant teacher? Why when he had a daughter who loved him more than anyone else in the world? When she meets Culler Evans, a former student of her father’s and a photographer himself, an instant and dangerous attraction begins. He seems to know more about her father than she does and could possibly hold the key to the mystery surrounding his death. But Eddie’s vulnerability has weakened her and Culler Evans is getting too close. Her need for the truth keeps her hanging on… but some questions should be left unanswered.
Review:
I’m pretty much in love with Courtney Summers and her beautiful writing.
I read Some Girls Are (one of Courtney’s other books) because of the plot (mean girls/bullying). After finishing I immediately purchased Cracked Up to Be (another of Courtney’s books), which was also excellent. When my very nice blogger friend Gail offered to let me borrow Fall for Anything, I danced around and said YES YES YES because I knew that if it were anything like her other two books I would be in love.
This is a scary place for an author to be – so high on a pedestal. But Courtney Summers nailed it.
The character in Fall for Anything, Eddie, is a girl dealing with massive grief over her father committing suicide. This book, simply put, is Eddie’s quest to find the reason that he took his own life.
But, I kind of feel weird even saying “simply put” in this review, because Courtney and her writing and her characters aren’t simple. At all.
Eddie’s grief is written in such a painful way – the actions and events and thoughts are so true and real. The individuals she interacts with have as much dimension as she does, and they all intertwine for yet another Courtney Summers masterpiece.
Fall for Anything is a deep book about grief, love, and loss, written with beauty and excellence.

Wow, its been a long time since I have commented on your blog.
It was kind of confusing for me at first but I think I have it figured out now. I’m a little slow.
This book sounds real good. Great review.
Sorry Wendy
I like my format now because I can feature books easier than in my other layout! Glad you were able to figure it out!
You did a fab job of reviewing. I am not a ‘fan’ of YA but have my select bloggers that review them, when I am interested you are one of those.
I haven’t read any of CourtneyS work, maybe I should.
Thank you Marce! Clearly, I highly suggest Courtney Summers – especially if you’re into contemporary. They don’t have any fluff or obvious characters that some YA books do, and easily can cross-over to adult readers!
I love the cover; it definitely captures a feeling of grief and being just a little lost. The summary description of Culler Evans creeped me out… but also piqued my curiosity! Thanks for sharing.
The cover is especially cool because the pictures hanging above her head are pictures from the book – different scenes throughout! Definitely an awesome cover.

I’ve seen this around and thought the dealing with suicide premise sounded really interesting. Glad to hear that it’s as good a book as it sounds like it ought to be. I’ll be putting it on my wish list for sure!
Excellent! It does deal with suicide but more about Eddie’s journey – you’ll see when you read it

I haven’t read anything by this author, but now I must! Great review
Oh PLEASE do! They aren’t huge books so they aren’t too intimidating that way, either!
