Winter’s first love away forever . . .
When Winter’s boyfriend is killed in a plane crash in the Alaskan wilderness, she’s robbed of the future she’d only just allowed herself to believe might be hers. Winter and Spencer had been destined for one another. And after his death, Spencer’s presence continues to haunt her.
But when her next-door neighbor becomes an unlikely friend, Winter begins to accept all that she can’t change. Can she open herself to a new future . . . and a possible new love?
Review:
Winter Longing put me through an entire range of emotions – most of which I hadn’t experienced while reading a book in quite some time. I was sad, angry, hopeful, excited, happy, devastated. The emotion that the author Tricia Mills puts into this book is unbelievable.
We spend our time with Winter, who has experienced a great loss, and how she recovers. While I have yet to experience such a loss (and hope not to for a long, long time), the beautiful writing and raw emotion show us this transformation in a heartbreaking realistic way. We don’t find Winter waking up a few weeks later ready to date again – rather, we see her struggle between what she knew and what she has to live with now. This is especially evident in the passages found in between each chapter – flashback scenes from her past (which, in some cases, broke my heart).
While the plot is not action packed, it certainly shows progress in Winter, Lindsay, and the other characters. This progress is what will keep you turning the pages – Winter Longing is not a story of a forlorn character wallowing for 300 pages, but rather the journey of a girl looking for a way to find happiness.

You have me really wanting to read this, after I saw how much you loved it I even picked up another (maybe the only other?) book published by this author and read it :)
I'm with Allison, I'm wanting to read this.
Definitely adding this to my wishlist! Sounds awesome and emotional. As long as a book makes me feel something, I'm usually happy.
I loved this book! It was such a beautiful story! Great review!
