Fun Five: Author Josi Kilpack

1. What is your favorite fast food chain?
Taco Time and Artic Circle tie for first place. If I’m in the mood for stuffed mexi fries or crispy taco’s, obviously I’m going to Taco Time (they use real cheese as opposed to many other Mexican fast food). If it’s burgers and fries that are calling to me, I’m heading to Artic circle for their 99 cent hamburgers and extra fry sauce.
2. What is one thing you do before going to bed?
Brush my teeth. I have dozens of cavities in my life and finally, around the age of 30 accepted that they ADA wasn’t kidding about brushing your teeth twice a day. There have been times I’ve forgotten and realized it in the middle of the night so I get up and brush. Wish I’d done that when I was younger.
3. Describe to us your favorite t-shirt.
It’s an oatmeal gray BUM equipment t-shirt I bought after my third child was born (11 years ago) and I couldn’t fit into anything. Once my body adjusted it was the perfect size for lounging in—not so big it drowned me but loose enough to be super comfy. It’s got a hole near the hem but I’m ignoring it for now. It also goes perfectly with a pair of 15 year old scrub pants I wear with them. I ripped the leg on the chicken coop a few years ago but sewed it up with black thread and their hangin in there. I look like a homeless person when I wear this outfit but it’s two of my favorite, most comfortable items so what do I care what people think?
4. How many times have you flown in a plane?
My first plane ride was when I was 18, I flew from Salt Lake City to Cincinnati Ohio to nanny for a friend while she and her husband went on vacation. I didn’t fly again until I was 25 and my husband and I went to Hawaii on a vacation of my own. Since then I’ve flown dozens of times. My husband is adventurous and has come up with some fabulous trips. We currently own a business based out of Las Vegas so we fly down there on a somewhat regular basis.
5. What is one food you have never tried but would like to?
I’m a pretty good cook, if I do say so myself, so when something sounds good I figure out how to make it. I make Indian, Pilipino, French, Asian, Italian, South American, and I like it all. One thing I guess I haven’t made are Canollis, so I’d like to give that a shot.
