1. Describe your perfect picnic lunch.
I’m hoping you’ll accept a perfect picnic dinner because I know exactly what that is. It’s one of those old fashioned wicker picnic hampers with pate, baguette and wine in it…and it gets opened on a warm summer evening at the Hollywood Bowl with the sun going down and the sky slowly blackening while somebody WAY cool like Annie Lennox performs.

2. What is your favorite month?
For a long time now, it’s been October because October has Halloween in it. I’ve always loved the finding or making the costumes for my boys and trailing them around the neighborhoods chatting with the other moms and dads and sampling from the candy bags while the kids are giddy with excitement about being outside at night and getting candy to boot. Although, I’m grieved to report that last Halloween, my youngest, who’s twelve now, gently broke it to me that he was going to a party and wouldn’t be trick or treating at all. And as if that wasn’t bad enough… he didn’t even bring me any candy.

3. How many pairs of shoes do you own?
I’m thinking fifteen or so…but not one pair is less than five years old…and some are ready for Social Security.

4. When is the last time you went to a concert?
Funny you should ask because it happened to be just this last Sunday, when my husband and I went to see our boys who are 15 and 12 in their band. It was a heavy metal extravaganza. My ears are still ringing.

5. What is your favorite afternoon snack?
I’m trying to convince myself that it’s celery sticks.

More about The Witchy Worries of Abby Adams:
Abbie Adams is a regular eleven-year old girl with normal problems like a really strict fifth-grade teacher. (Meet Miss Linegar. Rhymes with vinegar.) She’s chronically behind in homework, forced to keep a big secret from her very best friend and hoping like heck she can remember all her lines in the drama club play. But Abbie also happens to be a witch and in addition to everything else, she has to cope with stuff like her little brother morphing into a werewolf and trying to eat his first-grade teacher…not to mention figuring out what exactly is up with her very, very peculiar cat.
