Thanks again to Shanyn for allowing me back. A couple more reviews from me coming up in the next span (I know! I’m also excited that Shanyn is allowing me to read instead of just cooking meals and cleaning her laundry :D )

Green by Ted Dekker

This novel is designated as a prequel to Ted Dekker’s “The Circle Trilogy.” With a fourth book, the original trilogy can at least become a square, which is much closer to a circle than the previous trilogy triangle. I think? Either way this suspenseful action thrillride will both excite and confuse you throughout. The plot of the story jumps back and forth between alternate realities of the future and the present and the possibility for a few people to travel between the two. This is where the confusing part starts; a future that seems like the past, a population threatening virus, a plot that twists and turns as you struggle to remember what happened in the “previous” books that are actually sequels now, and an ending that baffles. As confusing as that all may sound, the book was most definitely an enjoyable read. As the reader, you can definitely make a connection with the characters and their struggles and decisions throughout the story. The religious parallels are evident, but not overbearing, and many of the young adult readers might not even notice the in depth comparisons between the plot and Christianity. While I would have liked to have read the original trilogy more recently (it was released in 2004) the book certainly is not designed to be stand-alone and was unquestionably entertaining. It also serves to draw you back into The (original) Circle (that still seems more like a triangle) series which is worth a read for nearly any age.

AAAAHHHH! I love Ted Dekker! You know, I have not read any of the circle books yet. Sometime I will just have to read them all back to back.

Come visit me, I am doing a giveaway!

I won this recently and was hoping it was like his thrillers. I only skimmed part of it but I was so confused! This may not be the book for me. Great review!
