Book Summary (from Goodreads.com):
As if being a purrfect cheerleader isn’t enough responsibility! Tessa Crimson’s the sweet and spunky leader of the SOS (Society of Smitten Kittens), a cheer squad—turned—spy society dedicated to bringing dastardly boyfriends to justice, one cheater at a time. Boyfriend-busting wouldn’t be so bad . . . except that so far, every suspect on the Naughty List has been proven 100% guilty!
When Tessa’s own boyfriend shows up on the List, she turns her sleuthing skills on him. Is Aiden just as naughty as all the rest, or will Tessa’s sneaky ways end in catastrophe?
The Naughty List. Is your boyfriend on it?
Review:
I love books about high school societies, I’m not really sure why. So when I received The Naughty List, which is about a group of girls that try to catch boys cheating on their girlfriends, I knew that it would be a fun read for me.
In between the chapters are fun “memos” from the society to their “customers” (girls who wish to have their boyfriends checked up on). There are also messages from the society to other girls in the society. I found these to be a fun way to break up the chapters and keep it a lighter read.
One thing I did not like about this book was how unbelievable some of the situations were – I just assumed that the ‘spying’ they did would be following a boy to the movies or watching his house for a girl to show up – they actually take it quite a bit farther, climbing walls and breaking into places. Even so, it didn’t make me upset so much that I put the book down, which is good because the ending was actually very clever.
There’s another book in this series coming out in Summer 2010 (according to the back of my copy) entitled “To Catch a Cheater,” and I’m interested to see how Suzanne Young will use the story and evolve it. The Naughty List was a pretty easy read, but I couldn’t always guess what was going to happy which makes it a GOOD easy read, in my opinion.
