Review: Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

For Nora Grey, romance was not part of the plan. She’s never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how much her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her. Not until Patch came along. With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Nora is drawn to him against her better judgment.
But after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora’s not sure who to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is, and to know more about her than her closest friends. She can’t decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is way more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel.
For Nora is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen – and, when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost her life.
Well, many many bloggers have reviewed this book, and it was highly anticipated for me – which is bad news for a book generally, because it more ground to make up before I consider it as good as everyone else says.
However.
I have had busy weeks because of a new responsibility at my job, and it pained me to put this book down. I even read it during a car trip, and I rarely ever read in the car. It reminded me much of My Soul to Take by Rachel Vincent, because it is a high school setting and a paranormal type plot – the story keeps you guessing, and it’s especially fun because it’s a topic that you don’t know much about, so you can’t just guess what’s going to happen like you can with some relationship or job stories.
It’s also especially fitting that this book is coming out near Halloween, because it was slightly creepy to read in parts.
My suggestion: buy. Or at the very least get on the waiting list for your library’s copy!

Great cover on this book!
Great review. I have been seeing this book around a lot.
I wanted to stop in because you commented on my Pretty Little Liars Challenge. You said you wanted to join but your library doesn't have the books. I just wanted to let you know the challenge is going until the end of next year, so I would let my librarian know that you would really like these books. Maybe print off some sheets on what the books are about with the covers or something and show them. This is what I did for my library because I really wanted to read them. They are a huge hit down there now. I hope you can get copies and join us. There are great prizes at the end!
Have a great day!

I can hardly wait to read this book! I've read so many different reviews on it that it's on my Wish List!
WOW! I just noticed I was the top commentator! Yea!!!!
I wanted to email you, and I thought I had your email add, but I guess I don't.
So… Yeah, I just don't know what to do about not being able to get that book. I hate it when that happens with the library system. For some reason a book gets stuck on "new" and won't go out to other libraries. I really wanted to read the other one first, but if you don't think I have to then i guess I will take you up on your offer. I can read it right away and get it back to you. I know I would never be able to get that one from the library.
Oh duh, I guess you will need my mailing add.
email me – and I will email you back my add.
