Since Louisiana cocktail waitress Sookie Stackhouse has so few living relatives, she hates to lose one – even her cousin Hadley, undead consort of the vampire Queen of New Orleans. Hadley’s left everything she has to Sookie, but claiming that inheritance has a high risk factor. Some people don’t want her looking too deeply into Hadley’s past, or Hadley’s possessions. And they’re prepared to do anything in their power to stop her. Whoever it is, they’re definitely dangerous – and Sookie’s life is definitely on the line…

I had a lot of fun reading this installment. I learned a lot about the vampire and werewolf cultures that hadn’t really been previously discussed, and Sookie’s relationships with Bill and Quinn definitely change after a few events in the beginning of the book. It kind of turns everything around that I’ve read so far, so it was fun to reconsider everything that has happened (and kind of makes me want to go read the other books again).

At the end of the book, Sookie was up to something that I couldn’t quite figure out until it happened, and I was very happy that Sookie figured out the things she did and executed them in such a smart way. I’ve also been noticing the titles of the books and how they play into the story more – the cover image, too. Excellent read!

oh I adore this book! This series! I have read them all 3 times except the newest book. I am a bit upset over the end of it…ugh…I don't know what CH was thinking! Have you read it?

I believed it was HBO, and as of last time I checked, nothing comfirmed. But if she has actresses/actors lined up, I think its a go.
